Most of my work is done in sketchbooks, & gets very smudgy! So when I scan them in (you can see it on Ghoulish Girl too), I add a gradient in Photoshop...just a sort of parchmenty colour at about 15%...sort of makes the ink drawing look old, which is the effect I'm after, & effectively hides the fingerprints & dirty edges (not a very glamorous reason, but practical!):-)

oh wow, this is awesome! i love the skull &the wings. the detail is really amazing, especially on the wings &banner, i find.
